I was born and raised in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, the daughter of a Belgian father and a French mother. As such, I am a native speaker of French with a strong francophone background. I obtained a BA from the University of Geneva, Switzerland and a MS in Education from SUNY Potsdam. I taught French at the middle school/high school level for 35 years before retiring in June 2021.

I am a member of several professional educational organizations such as ACTFL, NYSAFLT, AATF and FLaNNYL.
I am currently first vice president of NYSAFLT.
I was named “Chevalier dans L’Ordre des Palmes Académiques” for efforts in promoting French language and culture by the French Ministry of Education
Each year, I attend a variety of conferences and am a regular presenter at various venues.
I regularly proofread work for authors of French-speaking novels and teacher guides.

When I'm not working on my computer, I enjoy reading, kayaking on the lake and other outdoor activities. I love traveling, trying new foods and learning about the many cultures from all around the world.

PROOFREADING AND TRANSLATING
This is a strength of mine as I have been proofreading for years, editing exams at the state level and more, and I have an eye for the small details that may have been missed. I am a perfectionist, yet can deliver a product in a very reasonable amount of time. For most projects, I charge $30/ hour.
AUDIO RECORDINGS
Do you need a recording in French that sounds authentic ? Would you like me to make an audio version of a text? I have been told that I have a very neutral French accent, easily understandable. Check out this audio clip of a chapter of "La terre des chiens errants", de Jennifer Degenhardt.
FRENCH LESSONS
